Red Berries Are Here

When we were walking through the field with Taylor I was looking down at the plants on either side of me (habit now). All of a sudden a little burst red color popped into my field of vision. I couldn't believe it! Red berries already!!
Doesn't that look delicious? I just squealed when I saw them. I hollered and asked Jeff if I could pick them and he said sure. Then Taylor warned me that that variety would not be sweet at all until it had gotten a little bigger and softer. I was disheartened that I wasn't going to get to taste the first berry of the season yet.
We have two varities of berries planted and these are the Camerosa (I think I spelled that right). These will be ready for picking before the other variety-the Chandlers.

Just another Camerosa plant loaded down with berries!! After the warm weather this week and weekend there will be alot more red ones in the field.

This is the Chandler with one little red berry peeking out from underneath a leaf.

All the plants are still flowering which means more berries, berries, berries!!
I can't wait-I know Molly (my daughter in law) is ready to pick some. And I am positive that Matt (my youngest son) is ready for some homemade strawberry icecream. I am too.
