The bees arrived yesterday. I am so excited. Robin said they were swarming everywhere when she got there and that she was isntantly covered in bees. I am hoping to grab some pics today. I am going to try to get Robin to do her own blog about the bee aspect and link it to this one. If we are both blogging on the same site a lot of stuff might get archived and I know people generally don't like going through the trouble of searching through archives for what they have missed.
I am watching Norah for a little while this afternoon and afterwards, I am going up to the farm to throw out some wild flower seeds in the bald areas of the farm that have a tendency to wash away when we get really hard rains. It will also give the bees something to feed on once they bloom. Maybe if the rain stays at bay for just a bit I may dig up some crepe myrtles and transplant them at the farm. Of course if it keeps raining, the feeling of needing a nap may just overcome me. I am hoping not because there is so much to do.
The exterminators are supposed to be at the farm at 3:00 (if the rain holds off) to spray. If the rain is too much then they will come tomorrow and then we will have to get the next inspection. After that we can start building walls!!
I think in the meantime while Norah watches cartoons I will research how and when to prune an older pecan tree. The one that is behind the market is really old and I don't think that it even produced any nuts this past season. If anyone reading knows of anything I can do I would welcome the information.
